Matthew is the Frozen Alchemist, he specialises in Ice. He has an unlimited supply of ice, due to the world's massive amount of water, he can draw ice from the sea or from the air in the form of water vapour. He shapes the water into an object than freezes it, resulting in very hard weapons and objects.

There is nothing extremely impressive or haunting about Matthew's life before now, he grew up in Central, close to the military headquarters and even closer to Alchemists. At the age of 17, he was entering the practical exam for becoming a State Alcehmist. He was up against people much older than him, but he didn't really mind as they all sucked at it anyway. He took a deep breath and drew the transmutation circles, and he formed something truely spectacular, as he kicked the fire hydrant next to him and it shot out water onto his transmutation circle. He quickly put his fingers down on the circle to control the water. It froze and quickly shot up in the air in spirals, as he made a living dragon out of ice.
For the finale, the dragon rushed down at the exam co-coordinators and rested by their side, as the sculpture broke and shining bits of light were replacing the trail of ice. It only took a moment for them to decide, as he was given his pocket watch and a title, the Frozen Alchemist. He was full of pride at that moment, and nothing could bring him down, not even the sheer disappointment of every other trying Alchemist there, cause just then, at that time he was the only one he had to care about and he didn't have to worry about anyone else. He was wearing his typical clothing, a dark blue jacket with a black shirt and black jeans, as he walked up to report. He had no drive to do anything.
"War. War never changes." That was the words running through his mind as a conflict at a country that he had never heard about and for some reason they were fighting them. His job was simple, just kill them. He drew in vapour from the air, now using gloves with transmutation circles drawn on them as he summoned a dragon, just like his exam, except this dragon swept up ten people and froze them so much that when the dragon broke, they broke too, as a red cloud appeared in the sky just as it all shattered. He sighed, this was wrong, this kind of slaughter is just meaningless.

Zero stood on top of his personalised Knightmare, the Shinkiro , standing there doing nothing. They were on the ground, and being televised through out Area 11. "Hear me Britannia! I am Zero! I have once again come back to fight for the people who cannot regardless of their race!" He yelled, and he heard in the distance all the large displays around the settlement play it too.
Lelouch, inside the helmet smirked. "The first stage is complete, now all I have to do is wait for the fools to come right at me." He thought, this was going to be checkmate. He had the Zero squad close behind him, and the Shinkiro's absolute defence mechanism would help him greatly. Zero slowly pulled his arm up, so it faced directly at the camera.
"Those with power, fear us. Those without power, rally behind us!" And with that final yell, his arm went off to the side, his cape going out wards while flowing in the wind. Lelouch smirked. "Now the Britannians will be coming like flies." Lelouch thought, he had done it. This was a built up part of the settlement around him, leaving only destruction in it's path. Lelouch had checkmate already, he was sure.
"Straight into my web." Zero thought, returning into the cockpit, as his seat slid in, and he grasped a handle, and took his helmet off with his other hand. "Britannia, you can never think right, and that is why the Black Knights will triumph!" He yelled, letting it echo throughout the area. Britannia had basically made themselves in an area, and had completely missed Lelouch's flank.
Yes, he had the Black Knight in small squads behind them. They were in a circle of despair. He watched as he saw a green ring, slowly light up around the Britannian's area, and he smirked. He had asked Rakshata to build a large Gefjun Disturber, large enough to cover the entire area that Lelouch had anticipated for them to move into. Straight into his web.
Lelouch laughed hysterically, and it echoed through the whole Settlement. Lelouch hadn't done this in a long time. He looked down at the battlefield, he could see falling Knightmares, Suzaku wasn't there, and the Lancelot was no where to be seen, but he could see other custom Knightmares. Checkmate. Lelouch wasn't done just yet. He waited as the system shut down, he knew he would be caught in the radius, but that was going to be as planned. Kallen could spring up sooner than later anyway. Just as he ordered, he could hear the Slash Harkens pull down the buildings, making massive amounts of smoke, and setting a stage. If anyone looked up, they would see Knightmares in the smoke, unaffected by the disturber. "Britannia...this is the Silver Storm Mercenaries." He said, and slowly the smoke began to disappear.
"Within a few seconds the disturber would be offline, and our flank will strike, completely crushing them as they warm up again." Lelouch said before laughing. "This is all par my plan, and now with this move." He picked up and raised a Black King, before placing it back down on the side table.
The disturber shut down, and Knightmares flocked down at the Britannians, the Black Knights were in the thick of combat, and this time, they would win. "This is revenge for the Black Rebellion, Britannia!"
