It was around seven in the morning on a Saturday. Winry had woken up just because she went to bed early that night before, and felt the need to start the day early. She rose from her warm bed, and stretched her arms above her blonde head, completely blunt to the fact that she held her favorite wrench all night while she was sleeping. She yawned a few times, slightly kicking some messy items that was sprawled onto the floor carelessly out of her way. She made her bed and cleaned up abit before heading to the bathroom to get ready to do her daily routine.
She put on her usual outfit, but covered herself with a white and black jacket, stuffing the large wrench inside one of her pockets. She headed for the kitchen, and out the front door to the porch outside where Den was stretching his back legs. "Good Mornin' Den." She spoke in a whisper, petting the dog before jumping off the steps. Her wandering eyes stared off into the distance. The sun was just now coming up, and everything seemed to be quiet still. Winry shrugged and power walked to the downtown shop to pick up a few things.~~~~~
It was literally like a little girl in a Candy Shop with a pocket wad full of cash. Everything and anything was the objective for Winry's to buy list for today. Her blue orbs round like two colossal sized balls, her mouth slightly ajar with a string of drool running down her chin. She hesitantly gulped down the remaining saliva build up and wiped her chin with her wrist.
She squealed rather loudly and jumped repeatedly before running inside, nearly killing herself and innocent bystanders in the process. Sparkles in her glistening eyes, she stared at the shinny tools and Auto mail samples and parts and pieces and all that good stuff. Winry could hardly stand the excitement that was building up, which confused alot of people.
"Ooh!! Whats this?!..How does this work?! What about that one?! Is it new?! How much is it?! Give it here! Give it here!!" She screamed out, obviously standing out like a sore thumb compared to the other shoppers, and judging by some looks they threw at the crazed weird lady, they made the fact apparent.
What was suppose to be just a ten minute visit turned into a full hour trip. It was something about it all, the works, that had this invisible bind that held a tight grasp on Winry even before she could remember. People kept telling her she was absolutely insane, that her mind was gone, probably taking a vacation somewhere across the world. Had she listened? Not entirely, but sure, she caught a few colorful words, a few foul and confused looks. It was something regular people liked to call an obsession, maybe even something more extreme when it came to gadgets and whatnot. She tried to calm herself. She had tried. That counts for something.
Too bad it didn't work...
After just about cleaning out the shop, almost putting it out of business, fighting off some crazy man for a freakin' L7 screwdriver with a soft grip handle and threatening to do bodily harm, Winry finally made it home with more bags than she wanted originally. She made it up the porch steps with some trouble, usually stumbling from time to time under the immense weight of her things. She could have sworn Den gave her a disapproving look for not handling herself better when she passed to make it to the kitchen.
She made a crash landing on the kitchen table and some simple bolts rolled out of the bags and onto the floor. "Grandma! Do we have people coming in today?" With no response, she figured her grandmother was making a visit to some other customer who couldn't come in. Since she was left at home alone... again, she decided it wouldn't be such a bad time to tinker with that new and improved Fretsaw...
Some things never change.
