HISTORY;[/b]

Mitzi Faerber was born in the country of Drachma which neighbors Amestris. Her home was stable only due to the fact that by the time she was born, her mother had been pushed into submission and had reluctantly accepted the role Mitzi's father had given her in the marriage. Upon her birth, her father was disappointed to find she was a girl, but accepted what he was given. Her mother was estatic and fortunatly, in her positon as the "good housewife," she was able to spend most of her time with Mitzi. Naturally, Mitzi favored her mother over her father due to the little time she spent with him.

Mtizi's mother taught her German from the beginning. When her first words were in German, her father grew irate, ordering her mother to teach her English. As she aged, her father pressed English more and more or whatever language they speak mostly in FMA as her first (and only) language while her mother secretly taught her German to keep her ear for it. German was her birthright, in both name and blood. However, her father found the language crude, despite marrying a woman who spoke it. Against his wishes, Mitzi grew up flent in both languages, desiring her mother's tongue more than her father's because it felt taboo.

If it has yet to be realized, Mitzi's father was a very domineering man, and when he said "jump," both Mitzi and her mother did so. It was from the bad relationship her parents had that Mitzi resolved not to end up like them. She would find someone kind, someone that would meet her halfway. She learned to wish for the fairytale prince, someone that would sweep her off her feet. It was from this fantasy that she was left alone later in her life.

Mitzi attended a small, military run school by order of her father. He did not expect her to rise high in status because she was a woman, but he refused to have an embarrassment of a daughter. Fortunately for him, not long after she began her middle years of schooling, her affinity for alchemy was discovered. The tense relationship between Amestris and her country made it difficult for her to like those on the other side of the border. However, when the very prince she'd been dreaming about her whole life came to Drachma from Amestris, it was difficult to continue thinking they were some sort of enemy.

His name was Ivan Kovach, and he was the picture perfect man, the kind of boy every girl dreams of wedding. In what had seemed like fourtune at the time, he took an intrest in Mitzi. Distracting her with chivilary and promises, he stole her heart and her purity. Then later, her life, as he proposed they travel to Amestris together after which he proposed in the literal sense. At eighteen, the oppurtunity was glamorous, and Ivan managed to decieve both her parents. They gave their blessing and, engaged, they crossed the border together. However, as soon as they were on the other side, the fairytale began to crack.

Ivan's kind demeanor turned even colder and commanding than her father. Lost in a foreign country, Mitzi could do little but cling to their engagement, hoping he was only in a phase. Blinded by her love for him, she followed his orders thouroughly, though her efforts were never enough. After only a year and a half of waiting for a marriage that would never be, Ivan left her, taking all their belongings with them, and leaving her in a country she knew nothing about. Heartbroken, confused, and scared, she was lucky enough to be discovered by an elderly couple. Unable to send her back home due to the fee, they instead offered her work and lodging.

In her months with them, Mitzi slowly realized, by the elderly couples coaxing, that she had not failed. She was not the one in the wrong. She had been tricked and used and tossed away when she was no longer needed. Mitzi managed to accept what had happened at that she had had no fault in it. She began to take up the practice of alcehmy again, having stopped once she and Ivan had passed into Amestris. She left the couple when she had enough money to support herself, thanking them, and promising to visit again.

She has been traveling Amestris for only a month, afraid to return home to her father, but greatly missing her mother.
